IDI GTA organized one of its Ramadan Iftar (fast-breaking) dinners in Etobicoke in partnership with the Ukranian Community Centre. The dinner was held on July 30th, 2013 and attended by over 70 people including representatives from faith groups and community organizations as well as ordinary residents of Etobicoke and the surrounding area.
Local MPs Bernard Trottier and Ted Opitz were the guests of honour of the dinner. The event featured two distinguished speakers – Dr. Agnes Meinhard, Director of the Centre for Voluntary Sector Studies, Ryerson University and Dr. Ilene Hyman, Dalla Lana School of Pulic Health, University. They spoke on the Role of Multiculturalism Policy in Addressing Social Inclusion in Canada.
