“The Role of Media in a Multicultural Public Sphere”

January 10th, 2013, Toronto, ON – Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI) Toronto will host its 8th Annual Dialogue & Friendship Dinner dedicated the role of media in a multicultural public sphere. Two guest speakers of the dinner will be Phillip Crawley (CEO and Publisher of the Globe and Mail) and Janice O’Born (Chair of the Canadian Centre for Diversity). Among the VIP guests of the event will be Hon. David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. The dinner will also feature the presentation of Excellence in Community Service Award to The Maytree Foundation and Ken Shaw (Co-Anchor, CTV News). The award recipients have been selected by a distinguished hosting committee of the dinner which includes:

IDI Toronto is a non-profit organization which aims to establish dialogue and friendship between individuals and communities in order to promote cooperation for the common good of society. The institute organizes its Annual Dialogue & Friendship Dinners to bring together prominent leaders of our society around the message of peace and tolerance which it tries to spread through its activities.

8th Annual Dialogue and Friendship dinner will take place on January 10th, 2013 between 6:30pm and 9:30pm at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Imperial room. Voluntary donations will be collected during the dinner in support of SickKids Foundation. Official media sponsor of the event is Rogers TV.
