A centuries-old tradition of reaching out to neighbours was continued at police headquarters this week by cooking and sharing Noah’s Pudding. Members of the Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI) Toronto and the Service, came together to create Noah’s pudding and share the fruits of their work with colleagues at police headquarters and other police units.

The making of the pudding is a tradition among Muslims and Christians in the Middle East and in Turkey where it is an annual tradition to share the pudding with neighbours regardless of religious background. The five-year-old tradition at headquarters was expanded to include Service members getting involved in creating the pudding in the police facility at 9 Hanna Ave. and distributing it to staff. Acting Deputy Chief Jeff McGuire and some other members of the Service participated in the cooking of the pudding.
