Strangers or Neighbours? How Do We Overcome Our Fear of the Unknown? was the theme of the community dialogue dinner which was co-hosted by Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre and the Intercultural Dialogue Institute GTA. The dinner was held on August 15th 2013 at the Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood centre in Mississauga bringing together representatives of diverse communities and organizations.
A number of prominent names from the Region of Peel took part in this event. Shelley White, President and CEO, United Way Peel offered her insights as a keynote speaker on the theme of living together as neighbours. Local politicians such as MPP Dipika Damerla and MP Brad Butt also shared their remarks with the audience. David Szwarc, Chief Administrative Officer, Peel Region was the emcee of the evening.
