Members of the Intercultural Dialog Institute (IDI)-Toronto and Turkish community families who live within Scarborough and North York will be coming together with members of the community of Parkwoods United Church in North York, Toronto for a Ramadan Iftar (fast-breaking) dinner on Wednesday, August 10th evening for interfaith dialogue.
The participants will enjoy a delicious homemade Turkish meal and desert. After the dinner, both communities will come together around tables for conversation as the opportunity to meet and dialogue with practicing Muslims and Christians. Their honest discussions will lead to a deepening mutual understanding, trust, and a lasting friendship. IDI-Toronto aims to create a positive environment for people to talk frankly as friends in the same neighborhood, and to explore their concerns with living together in a safe and constructive environment.
IDI-Toronto would like to thank the community of Parkwoods United Church for hosting this special Iftar dinner initiative. IDI will continue to foster the long-standing relationship between the Muslim and Christian communities that is built on interfaith dialogue and cooperation toward domestic and global peace.
